I am currently a complete novice having only done some dingy racing. However, Come early December I hope to have completed my RYA Offshore yachtmaster qualification through Sail Due South in Langebaan. I would love to crew for someone to consolidate my very organised sailing course with some real life experience.

I am a medical doctor, specialising in emergency medicine. I have done some time in aviation and I am well versed in crew resource management and working with a diverse group of people in a confined space. I am more than happy to take on medical oversight and assistance as needed on the voyage.

Please don't hesitate to contact me for more information! Ek is vlot in Afrikaans ook as dit help 🙂

I am from the USA, but currently live in Rio. I would love to crew for someone after they arrive in Rio– I'm open to the destination.

I have experience racing MC Scows on lakes, crewing on a couple yachts in California, USA, and I went on a three day sailing (more like motoring) cruise in Belize. I am nice, easy going, and am really passionate about learning and sailing across oceans.

You can contact me via email, Whatsapp, or call my number directly.

One Atlantic crossing on Catana 47 as Skipper 1st hand.

Always looking to challenge the comfort zone without jeopardizing security of course.

Cycled solo from Iran to Japan.

Spent a few silence retreats of 10 days (Vipassana) in India and Switzerland.

Worked at Soccer World Cups with experience in Team management.

Now looking at moving from Switzerland to Rio Janeiro on a permanent basis.

It would be a dream come true to get an opportunity to join your crew and dedicate all of myself for that TEAM.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Safe Sailing . Be happy

Just completed RYA Yachtmaster (Oct 2016), (and SAS Coastal, Med, VHF) have +7000nm on my personal log, have done Trans Atlantic 2016 (Cape Town - St Helena - Natal (Brazil). I'm 53y old, Industrial Psychologist, Bus Consultant, so very much aware of group dynamics on a small space over a long period. I've sailed my whole life, mostly beach cats (Dart 18), and plan to buy my own yacht in 2017.

Seek position as crew/first mate on return Rio to Cape Town, to build experience. prev-ably a mono-hull yacht.

I have flexible time but no funds, so expect cost for one way air ticket to be carried by owner/skipper.

I live behind the Knysna forest (no cell reception) but i-net, whatsup or skype (christiaan6309) as means for comms.

If interested, give me a call please.

RYA Competent crew (2007) and I have a bit over 3000 nm which includes a delivery from Cape Town to the Seychelles and I also participated in one regatta (Bart's Bash, Pattaya, Thailand). I have done my STCW'95 (fire fighting, first aid & survival) back in 2007, but the certificates are only valid for 5 years and have already expired. I have been working in the boat building industry (South Africa and Thailand) for +-10 years and I am experienced in boat electrical systems design & troubleshooting. If something electrical related goes wrong I would be able to either fix the problem or improvise a temporary solution. I am immediately available for crewing on yachts leaving from SA. I have already been vaccinated against yellow fever.

Hi, I`m Tobias, Brazilian, a 30 yo Surf/SUP and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor (Purple Belt).

I'be been traveling around the world for the past 5 years, but haven't had the chance to experience sailing as part of my adventures, so I would like to offer my hard work in exchange of some learning and a new experience.

I learn fast, I'm a" go-getter" and can do any type of work needed.

I'm currently living in Cape Town and if you need any kind of help or want to meet please don`t hesitate on contacting me.

Although my sailing experience is limited I can adapt to any situation and am a quick learner, more importantly I'm a team player and give positive energy to those around me.

Hola... I'm a full-time round the world traveller, alternating between volunteering on GreenPeace ships and tour bike cycling. I just finished a 6 month stretch on the Esperanza as a deck-hand and I'm busy doing my STCW95 now. I wanna get more sailing experience and volunteering as a Cape to Rio crew is exactly the kind of adventure I'm interested in. I've got great recommendation letters from my previous three 1st mates if necessary... Hope to be a man of value as part of your crew

I need to state upfront that I am 64 years of age. Very healthy thankfully. A sea rescue practitioner of many years in various capacities, mainly navigation. A Doctor of health care with numerous qualifications in medicine and healthcare and in sailing both from RYA and also SAS. A former navigator with the navy I have kept well up to date through my ongoing rescue work including electronic digital communication. My second passion is cooking. I specialize in Asian cooking, notably Chinese but can cook any type of cuisine. I am one of the fortunates who does not get sea sick thus can spend long periods below deck cooking and doing whatever is required. Experienced on various oceans and seas. - and lakes, etc. It has been my life's dream to sail a Cape to Rio. Champion sailor in my youth I chose a professional career which took me all over the world - thus I am not famous nor well known locally. I quite recently returned to SA after my long period internationally. However, I could assist your campaign and competitive yacht in the capacity of chef, offering medical input and support where necessary and of course steering or navigating or being on watch as well such as every other crew member. My preference would be to sail on a yacht of over 40 ft. Thank you and best wishes for your campaign. Thank you for reading this input.

I am currently a IYT master of yachts limited and have been sailing all my life. I started out on a laser then moved on to a dart and then a Hobie. After a couple of trips around the Med I decided to do my Day skippers ticket. After that I became a yacht master and have crewed for a 36ft cat in Lake Malawi and then captained a 40ft cat in Inhambane, Mozambique. I have about 8-10 thousand sailing miles and absolutely love the ocean and sailing. This would be a great experience for me as I have never done an ocean crossing only delivered boats from CapeTown to Durban and Seychelles and Mozambique.

I am a passionate sailor who enjoys sail racing and offshore cruising. Being from Cape Town, I have done most of my sail racing in local club series and regattas on L26s(Lipton Cup 2014 - Team B&G), L34, Pacer42s(Twilight series & Mykonos offshore), Farr 42 and more. I am a member of the RCYC and its sailing academy. From a trip from Cape Town to Kenya and back, I have over 8000nM offshore experience(82ft OceanAdventurer2). More recently I have been working on luxury yachts(60m Perini Navi) and taking part in amateur club racing in Palma de Mallorca with sport racing yachts(42ft Jot and 42ft Sevens). In order to challenge myself and to gain experience, I want to do more offshore and ocean sail racing. I am an commercially endorsed RYA/MCA Yacht Master offshore skipper with STCW and RYA/SAMSA VHF. Plus I have my SAS coastal skippers. The Cape2Rio 2016/2017 provides a great opportunity for me to learn and to add my experience and knowledge to the competent crew of a well maintained offshore racing yacht who wants to be relatively competitive in their class, while being safety conscientious. Always keen to work hard, I am a healthy, fit and competitive sportsmen, who is resilient and gets on with tasks and most personalities. I can cover all positions from bow to helm.
